New In Cinema was set up by Daniel Sarath in 2011 as NewInCinema.co.uk. After two years, the website was shut down in 2013 due to time and work constraints. However, it was re-launched with a new domain and new design in early 2015.

Daniel is a Journalism graduate from the University Of Central Lancashire. He graduated with a 2:1 degree. His dissertation, a collaborative project to create a magazine, was also shortlisted for the Best Original Concept For A Student Magazine award by the PTC Magazine Academy. He now works as a content writer at a web design and digital marketing studio in Liverpool, England.

Daniel has a passion for film journalism. His freelance work has been published on HeyUGuys, Lancashire Evening Post and, most notably, Yahoo! Movies where Daniel was a contributor for two years. He was also the UK editor of the pop culture website Screen Invasion where he had the chance to attend the Sundance Film Festival, London Film Festival and Edinburgh Film Festival. His work for Screen Invasion included interviews with ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Josh Radnor, ‘Berberian Sound Studio’ director Peter Strickland, and press conferences with the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Michael Fassbender, Maggie Smith, Steve Carell and Miles Teller.

New In Cinema is his blog where he shares reviews of new and upcoming movies in cinemas, on home release and from film festivals around the United Kingdom. The blog also includes listicles, news, retrospectives and interviews related to film.
